FAQ

"Tell me more about this rad event!" The Trailblaze Backpacking Adventure is a 3-day, 2-night backpacking experience along the Pacific Crest Trail in the Laguna Mountains. The event will take place Friday November 4, 2022 and conclude on Sunday November 6, 2022. It's the very first fundraiser of its kind in Make-A-Wish Foundation history, and we hope you'll join us for what is sure to be a radtastic and impactful inaugural journey!

"What if I don't have any backpacking experience?" Registered hikers will participate in a 15-week training program beginning late July that will include day hikes and overnight group campouts to help prepare them for the adventure. In addition to putting miles on their feet, participants will have the options to attend weekday clinics whose aim is to educate and empower so all participants will feel confident, capable, and ready to undertake this journey and explore wherever the next trail leads!

"What's included in my hike experience?"

  • A 15-week training program with in-person weekend training hikes and group campouts supported by our experienced Hike Leaders.
  • Weekday clinics featuring lectures from seasoned experts on all things hiking and backpacking.
  • Socials and mid-week training opportunities that aim to educate, empower, and inspire!
  • Event swag: T-shirt, bandana, & patch

"Is there a cost to participate?" Currently, there are 350 kids waiting their wish to come true--make your miles matter even more and know you're bringing joy, hope, and healing to a local wish kid! A non-refundable $100.00 donation is required at the time of registration and will be credited toward your fundraising goal.
