Welcome to my fundraising page! I started this fundraiser to help grant wishes for children with critical illnesses, like Nesiyah. With your help, it's possible.
In March 2016, Nasiyah began losing her balance and feeling dizzy while in dance class at school. Her mom immediately took her to urgent care, where it was confirmed her blood pressure and hemoglobin levels were extremely low. She went through many tests which ultimately led to the diagnosis of anaplastic anemia, a rare blood disorder. The diagnosis has been a huge adjustment for the entire family, and they are now looking into treatment options of chemotherapy or possibly a bone marrow transplant for Nasiyah.
Nasiyah loves to dance, especially to hip-hop, jazz and contemporary music. Some of her favorite things include the Harry Potter book series, the TV show “Once Upon A Time”, and the Golden State Warriors. Now that she has recently graduated high school, Nasiyah has been inspired by her experiences and is considering becoming a hematologist one day.
When imagining her wish, some ideas Nasiyah imagined were to be a vampire, to meet Beyoncé, or to have a virtual reality headset. Ultimately, Nasiyah decided that her number one wish was to go to Orlando, Florida. One of the reasons Orlando is her most heartfelt wish, is because she would like to visit the many theme parks they have and visit the beaches. Overall, she is looking forward to relaxing time with her family in Florida.
Make-A-Wish grants thousands of unique wishes each year. A lot, yes. But that's only 50% of eligible kids. I'm fundraising so more deserving kids and their families can know the happiness, relief and renewal a wish can bring.
Please help by contributing to this fundraiser. Every dollar matters.
