Challenge Accepted
Lindsay and Steve are excited to take on this year’s Make-A-Wish Trailblaze Challenge. In addition to the physical challenge, we have committed ourselves to raising the critical funds necessary for Make-A-Wish to grant the one true wish for each eligible child with a critical illness.
We have a close connection with Make-A-Wish. Steve's niece Kyle, was a recipient of a wish from Make-A-Wish. Before Kyle was diagnosed, she was living her best life. She had just received her driver’s license, been a bridesmaid in her sister’s wedding, made varsity on her school volleyball team and she had a boyfriend. All of that changed after a year of fighting a rare form of cancer. When we learned it was fatal, we were in shock. After a few days of digesting the information, Kyle lamented that she would miss out on life’s milestones: getting married, graduating college and becoming a surgeon. The Make-A-Wish Foundation found the funding, and all the contractors to make a wedding reception happen for Kyle. For five hours Kyle was happy, with her friends dancing and making memories. We are grateful to the people of Make-A-Wish. All donations are in her loving memory.
Make-A-Wish grants more than 15,000 wishes nationwide every year. But that’s only 50% of the eligible kids. We are fundraising so more kids and their families can know the true happiness, relief and renewal a wish can bring.
These essential wishes are only possible because of supporters like you.
*Gifts made through this fundraising campaign are a gift to the entire Make-A-Wish mission. The needs shown are symbolic of the common wish elements associated with each wish and are only representative of our many wish-granting activities. Gifts made will not actually be used to purchase the item or grant the wish described. All gifts will be pooled to meet the needs of Make-A-Wish.
