What is the Long Beach Polar Bear Splash?

Since 2000, the Polar Bears have raised a historic $10 million to grant the wishes of children with critical illnesses. The Polar Bears are motivated by camaraderie, a touch of madness, and a common goal: To honor young Paulie Bradley's memory and keep his young spirit alive in others.

What is the mission of Make-A-Wish Metro New York?

Make-A-Wish Metro New York and Western New York is one of the largest Make-A-Wish chapters in the United States. Founded in 1983, we have granted the wishes of over 19,000 children with critical illnesses in New York City, on Long Island, and in 17 counties in the Buffalo and Rochester areas.

Where is the Long Beach Polar Bear located? Where do I park?

Laurelton Boulevard ramp, Lafayette Boulevard ramp, Magnolia Boulevard ramp. Street parking is available for the day. In addition, the LIRR station has free parking that day that is just a short walk from the beach.

What time does the Splash begin?

This year merchandise sales will begin on the board walk at 10:00am. The official Ocean splash will be at 1:30PM but feel free to come before that to enjoy merchandise, stop by the Make-A-Wish table and experience the Splash!

What do I do, if I just made a donation but want it to be in support of a specific participant or team?

No worries at all, please send an email to Caroline at cverplanck@metrony.wish.org with your name, the date and amount of your donation and which team or participant you would like to support. Your gift will be transferred within 72 hours of receiving this inquiry.

How long does it take for gifts to be processed and counted toward my fundraising total?

Online donations are processed automatically and immediately applied to your fundraising total. Gifts made by check are processed and applied to your fundraising total within 72 hours of being received by Make-A-Wish Metro New York. Please allow up to four weeks for matching gifts and gifts made via donor-advised funds to arrive, be processed, and applied to your fundraising total.

Is my information secure?

Yes. We use industry-standard SSL encryption techniques to make sure that your credit card information, passwords, and personal inform

How is credit card information handled?
Credit card information is not stored in our database. During the donation process, we send donor credit card information to an online processing terminal using a secure connection. The information passed back is an approval or denial of the credit card donation.

How do I register for the the event online?
Click on the register button and complete the form. You will be guided through the registration process. Once your transaction is complete, you will receive a confirmation email receipt.

I forgot my Username and Password. How can I find out what they are?
Remember that your username and password are case sensitive. Click here to find your password. You will receive separate emails with your username and password.

How can I see who has donated to me?
Go to the Login section on the site. Enter the Username and Password that you used when you registered for the event. In your Participant Center, click on "View Progress". You will see Donor Name and dollar amounts in the Donation History section.

How can I view my team's activity?
Log in to the site using your username and password, and then click on the ‘My Team’ tab. This will allow you to view your team roster and the amounts raised by each team member.

What do I do with check or cash donations that I receive?
Turn your check or cash donations in to your local event coordinator at your local chapter office. They will add it into the system and count it towards your fundraising goal. Make sure to print out the Mail In donation form and include it with your cash or check donations.

All of my donors are not showing up on the scroll mechanism. Why?
As your supporters donate to you or your team, they have the option to make their name visible or anonymous in the scroll. Please contact cverplanck@metrony.wish.org with questions.
