2024 Walk for Wishes - Las Vegas, NV

Princess Jennifer's Fight Against Leukemia

Hello all!

Just wanted to start off by sharing our Jennifer’s story.

In 2022, our Jennifer experienced symptoms of low grade fevers, sporadic leg pain and ultimately a very scary bloody nose that lasted over an hour. Unfortunately we had no answers yet. However, we had another visit to the ER for extreme leg pain, but this time was different. On May 7, 2022, Jennifer was diagnosed having B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.

Jennifer spent the beginning of treatment isolated with multiple appointments to have chemotherapy, physical therapy and child play therapy. Now we are in the Maintenance phase, and she is able to have a normal childhood. She attends Kindergarten, ballet class, tap dance class, and tumbling. Although she still has appointments and takes chemotherapy daily, she is thriving despite it all. She is resilience✨

Soooo, I am really proud to support Make-A-Wish and their work in our community. Make-A-Wish creates life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. A wish gives our children hope and strength. It gives our children a moment away from the medicine, and it rewards them for their constant bravery. A wish brings families closer together and unites communities.

Did you know that Make-A-Wish grants more than 15,000 wishes nationwide every year? That’s a lot, yes. But that’s only 50% of the eligible kids.  Every hour of every day, three children are diagnosed with a critical illness. Every one of these kids needs a wish to give them strength and help them heal.  I’m fundraising so more deserving kids and their families can know the happiness, relief and renewal a wish can bring.

With the help of so many people, Jennifer has been granted her wish this summer. Now, it’s our turn to help others be granted theirs.
