Presleigh's Penguins
Why We're Fundraising for Make-A-Wish
On January 8, 2016 my daughter, Presleigh, was granted a wish from Make-A-Wish Illinois. Ironically, we got the phone call during one of her hospital admissions. From that day on, it gave us something to look forward to, and be excited about. In November of 2016, her wish to go to Disney World came true. We celebrated her 7th birthday there with all of her favorite characters, and it was the most amazing time spent with both of my kids. I will always hold those memories close to my heart, and am forever grateful to Make-A-Wish for making it happen.
On October 29, 2022, Presleigh passed away due to complications of a lifelong disease, Rett Syndrome. So now, to honor her memory, and help make more wishes come true, we are Presleigh’s Penguins.
On January 27, we will be jumping, once again, into the frigid waters so that more wishes can be granted. Together, with the help of family and friends, we’ve raised over $10,000 for Make-A-Wish Illinois! This has been such an emotional experience, and I really cannot express how truly magical it is for these kids to have their wishes granted…AND what it will always mean to their parents/family. Thank you to all who have donated, and supported us and Make-A-Wish. We look forward to seeing you at the 2024 Penguin Plunge.
With Love,
Presleigh’s Penguins
