For the past seven years our family has been raising money, through our award-winning lights display, for Make-A-Wish Central & South to help grant wishes for children with critical illnesses here locally. Wishes not only bring hope and joy to the child, their family and the community, but research has shown that a wish can give children the strength needed to fight and even overcome their illness.
The past eighteen months has been challenging for everyone. The pandemic has given us all an idea of what it’s like to be vulnerable and isolated, something the children Make-A-Wish serves already know too well.
The good news is, as we begin to emerge from COVID, travel wishes that were placed on hold are now becoming possible again, and MAW is preparing to grant all of the 560 wishes in their pipeline to children who have been patiently waiting due to pandemic delays.
