Make-A-Wish Michigan began in 1984 when Joshua, an 11-year-old from Tecumseh, wished to go to Walt Disney World® Resort. Fourteen other courageous children experienced the joy of a wish in that first year.
Today, the Foundation grants wishes to hundreds of Michigan children annually and has fulfilled more than 10,000 wishes in its history. In 2020, our mission continued to move forward in the midst of the pandemic, granting 248 wishes to courageous Michigan children.
The mission of Make-A-Wish Michigan is elegantly simple: We create life-changing wishes for Michigan kids with critical illnesses. Our vision is that we are dedicated to granting a wish for every eligible child in Michigan.
Michigan children are newly diagnosed with a critical illness every day. Every one of these kids needs a wish to give them strength and help them heal. When a wish is granted, a child replaces fear with confidence, anxiety with excitement and sadness with optimism.
With the help of people like you, Make-A-Wish Michigan grants hundreds of life-changing wishes nationwide year wishes that give children renewed energy and strength, bring families closer together and unite communities.
