Benefiting Make-A-Wish® South Carolina

The Trailblaze Challenge is a 28.3 mile hike where participants can tackle the terrain of the Foothills Trail - all in one amazing day! This is a hike, not a race, and caters to all levels from novice to advanced outdoor enthusiasts.

As well as being an extraordinary physical test, the real challenge is to raise much needed funds to grant the wishes of children in South Carolina with critical illnesses. A wish gives children renewed energy and strength, brings families closer together and unites communities.

By supporting the Trailblaze Challenge, you will help Make-A-Wish South Carolina grant more wishes this year.

Important Update Regarding our Spring 2020 Hike:

The health and safety of all Make-A-Wish constituents, including our wish kids and families, community supporters, volunteers and employees safe, is our priority. At this time, due to current medical and public concerns Make-A-Wish South Carolina has made the difficult decision to postpone the Spring 2020 hike, giving the participating hikers the opportunity to complete their hike in either Fall 2020 or Spring 2021. You can continue to give to support each hiker’s fundraising goal and help us grant wishes. Click the donate link on this page.

If you have questions, please reach out to We look forward to completing this outstanding journey with our devoted Trailblazers just a little later than usual. Wishes are waiting and Trailblazers continue to blaze a path for others to follow to make sure local kids receive the transformational wishes they need.

How Do I Get Started?

To begin your journey, you'll need to attend an information meeting. These meetings are designed to inform you about the mission of Make-A-Wish and describe in-detail the weekend-long hike event. Please visit our site again in the fall when recruitment re-opens.
