Jordan River Pathway

The Trailblaze Challenge is a 21-mile hike where participants can tackle the terrain of the Jordan River Pathway - all in one amazing day! This is a hike, not a race, and caters to all levels from novice to advanced outdoor enthusiasts.

As well as being an extraordinary physical test, the real challenge is to raise much-needed funds to grant the wishes of children in Michigan with critical illnesses. Now more than ever, hope is essential. Make-A-Wish continues to actively grant non-travel wishes, and we don't want any wish kid to wait a single day longer than necessary to experience the hope and joy that a wish brings.

By supporting the Trailblaze Challenge, you will help Make-A-Wish Michigan grant hundreds of wishes this year.

How Do I Get Started?

To begin this life-changing journey, you'll need to attend an information meeting. These meetings are designed to inform you about the mission of Make-A-Wish and describe in detail the weekend-long hike event.

Alexis, 10

Alexis, who has an autoimmune disorder, wished to have a Bernedoodle puppy. "It’s been a couple of years in and out of the hospital, so seeing her eyes light up with this puppy is a miracle," Alexis' dad, Josh, said.

Mailynn, 10

Mailynn wished for a shopping adventure so she could pick out items for her basement game room and her bedroom, which included special decor including a princess canopy for her bed. Her wish has been a welcome distraction from Mailynn's cancer diagnosis. "It was my wish come true to see her face light up like that," Mailynn's dad, John, said. "She was overjoyed and was granted more than we could imagine. She sees her wish, and it comforts her when she remembers the harsh process and the road to victory."
