The awesome and amazing Aiden began his journey with our family in 20212 after being placed in foster care, becoming a permanent member when we adopted him in December 2013. Prior to coming into our care, Mr. A suffered a traumatic brain injury that resulted in multiple health issues. These health issues resulted in being a frequent visitor to the hospital. Sometimes these stays were in our hometown of Green Bay, other times he would have to spend time at the children’s hospitals in Madison and Milwaukee. In 2015 the amazing Mr. A, who always had a smile on his face and would laugh in any situation, was granted a wish through Make-A-Wish. Over July 4th week we had the opportunity to stay at Give Kids the World, visit Disney World, Universal Studios and spend time at Cocoa Beach. It was an amazing week that showed our family the true impact and power of a wish, bringing our family closer with renewed strength and energy. Our family will be forever grateful for the experience of Aiden’s wish trip that ultimately took place just three months before he went to heaven.
A wish granted can change the life of a child and the child’s family, replacing fear with confidence; sadness with joy; and anxiety with hope. And this hope is essential, now more than ever. As a result of Covid-19, more than 450 children our waiting for their unique wish in Wisconsin, the largest pipeline in Make-A-Wish Wisconsin’s history!
As an alumni family we’ve made the decision to pay it forward in Aiden’s honor and help make the impossible possible for more children medically eligible for a wish. Will you join us on this journey by making a donation today? Together we can give children much-needed hope for brighter days ahead!
