Tommy spent 3 months in the PICU at Children's Hospital of WI in the fall of 1997 at the tender age of 8 months fighting a wicked viral infection. He came home to us on Christmas Eve that year, but made frequent visits back to Children's over the next few years. After much therapy and care, T made excellent progress in rehab.
He was given his wish by the Children's Medical staff and MAW in 2002. A limo picked us up, and we spent a week over New Years at the Give Kids the World village and the Disney Parks in Orlando, FL (unfortunately there was no WTForecast app back then, there was a cold snap that week and we packed no cold gear! Brrrrr). Tommy was treated like a King, we waited in no lines all day, and he or his sisters were made part of the stage shows we visited. It was the most wonderful experience of his life to that point!
We ask that you consider donating to this great cause in lieu of flowers. MAW continues to grant young girls and boys wishes who have weathered or are battling severe disease. It is such an uplifting experience for the wish recipient as well as their family. We highly encourage you to make a donation in Tommy's name here, or to their site directly so that wishes in WI may continue to be granted to these brave, deserving children.
