Help us grant wishes for Utah kids like Andy!
Andy is a brave 5-year-old girl. She is silly and sassy, and hopes to be a princess when she grows up. Her favorite thing at school right now is art and she loves to paint. Andy was diagnosed with a nervous system disorder when she was two months old. Most activities take her longer than other children, but she is very motivated to keep up with her brother and friends. Her new treatments have been life-changing, and Andy has surpassed the life expectancy she was given. She lives every day to the fullest.
Andy's wish is to go to Walt Disney World while it is decorated for Halloween. Andy watches Halloween movies year round and loves to dress up - her favorite movie is The Nightmare Before Christmas. She is most looking forward to the idea of trick-or-treating at the park as this is something her condition has prevented at home as most neighbors have stairs that are difficult to navigate. She is excited to meet Jack Skellington, princess Anna, and Cinderella.
When a wish is granted, a child replaces fear with confidence, sadness with joy and anxiety with hope. The majority of wish kids go on to beat their critical illnesses, and research shows that a wish can help children build the physical and emotional strength they need to fight – giving them a better chance of surviving and thriving.
