Welcome! We started this fundraiser to help grant wishes for kids with critical illnesses like Gus.
Gus is an outgoing three-year-old who loves his mom and likes to be just like his brother and sister. He is a very happy kid who enjoys the beach, Mario, Pikachu, and Mickey Mouse. Most of all, Gus absolutely loves superheroes and Spiderman is his favorite.
symptoms like pale skin, bruising, and lethargy. He went into remission about a month after diagnosis, but he and his mom still spent most of the summer in the hospital undergoing intense treatment. After 6 months of being in and out of the hospital, Gus was able to continue minimal treatment at home for another year. In July of 2021, Gus’ leukemia returned. With more inpatient stays, Gus underwent additional chemotherapy and immunotherapy to kill the cancer. Once Gus reached remission again, he was able to receive a bone marrow
transplant from his brave big sister, Lucy. Gus underwent a difficult recovery but is now symptom free and doing well. Almost one year since his bone marrow transplant, Gus is finally able to enjoy some of the typical interests of other 3-year-olds.
For his wish, Gus chose to go to Walt Disney World because he loves Mickey Mouse and the beach. He is now healthy enough to completely enjoy it, so Gus and his family are very excited!
