Our MAN3025 Spring '24 class taught by Dr. Roomes is proudly sponsoring Wish Kid, Sunday, whose wish is to go to Disney World. Our goal is to raise a minimum of $5,000 which is the average cost of a wish.
Sunday is 4 years old and was born with Congenital Nephrotic Syndrome. Because the filtration system in her kidneys did not work properly, she was leaking all the protein she was taking in through her urine. At one-month-old, her parents were told that this was genetic, there was no cure, and that she would eventually need a kidney transplant. At 3 months old, Sunday's first surgery was to remove her right kidney. Two days before her 2nd birthday, she received the ultimate gift of life. A new kidney was donated to her by her father. Although she has suffered some complications from that big surgery, Sunday now leads a pretty typical life of a 4-year-old.
