2023-2024 Wish Your Way Southern Florida
MAN3025 Fall 2024
Our MAN3025 Fall '24 class, led by Dr. Roomes, is honored to sponsor Wish Kid Gaby, whose greatest wish is to have a puppy. We are working to raise at least $5,000, the average cost of granting a wish.
Gaby, who will turn 11 in October, was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia Type B on December 20, 2023. Her family had to leave Ecuador so she could receive the urgent care she needed. Thanks to their determination, they arrived in the U.S. on December 28, where Gaby began treatment immediately at Nicklaus Children's Hospital. After living in the hospital for three weeks, they found a place to stay, and Gaby continues her treatment today. Despite the challenges, Gaby believes that with love and the support of her family, she can overcome anything. Her dearest wish is to have a poodle puppy to accompany her on her cancer journey and beyond.
When a wish is granted, a child replaces fear with confidence, sadness with joy, and anxiety with hope. Many wish kids go on to conquer their critical illnesses, with research showing that the power of a wish can provide the physical and emotional strength they need to fight, increasing their chances of surviving and thriving.
Every day, more than 70 children are diagnosed with critical illnesses, relying on donors like us to help make their wishes come true.
Thank you for your support!
