At this time, it is our great pleasure to introduce Amaya, our 2023, Fashion with a Passion “Wish Kid”.
When she’s not busy practicing cheer or doing schoolwork, you will find 15-year-old Amaya, diagnosed with cystic fibrosis, sewing, and learning all there is to know about the world of fashion! Due to her illness, she has always been quite petite and sometimes unable to find the styles she wanted in her size, so she took to learning to sew in order to alter her own clothing. She now loves to thrift and create, altering clothes and creating her own designs. Amaya hopes to one day take this passion a step further by moving to New York City or possibly enrolling in fashion school.
When presented with the opportunity of getting a wish granted, Amaya immediately knew she wanted to delve deeper into fashion by wishing to visit Vogue in the city that never sleeps. “This wish is important to me because I've always been interested in fashion and the city life. This has been a dream to me since I was six years old,” shared Amaya.
Please help us fund Amaya’s wish by contributing any amount to our fundraising goal of $10,000. Please follow the link above to donate to our great cause.
