Hi, my name is Sammy Schwab and I am a life-long advocate of the Make-A-Wish Foundation. In my freshman year of High School, I first met the Executive Director, and later the President of Make-A-Wish for my region and I was so touched by the entire organization that I decided to join their passion and commitment to raise a wish for a child with a life-threatening condition. It was such an incredible experience that I then challenged myself to raise a wish for every year of high school that I was lucky enough to achieve with the support of incredible donations from friends and followers of my sports show.
In total, with the help of incredible donations, I have raised funds for 4 wishes, combined for over $36,000. Every wish was more special than the next, from meeting John Cena to attending the NBA All-Star Game, and I still keep in touch with many of the families. The wish kids have incredibly strong wills to fight their life threatening health issues, and having the wish to look forward to truly does make a difference. I was honored with the Pennsylvania Make-A-Wish Student of the Year award in 2019, and at the National Convention, they discussed my efforts in front of hundreds of employees and supporters. It was an honor to feel like I was able to make a difference. It had a profound impact on my life, learning of others challenges and working to give back through this life-altering organization. To be able to participate in watching the wish kids, along with their parents and siblings who had to make life sacrifices, enjoy their wish, was a feeling that most donors feel has a memorable effect that lasts with them for the rest of their lives.
I am proud to announce that while studying at the University of Pennsylvania, Wharton School of Business, I have decided to raise another wish, trying to do my part to pursue the difference we all can make. With the help of my fraternity, Zeta Beta Tau (ZBT), we are committed to raising over $10,000 to grant a wish for a local Philadelphia family. I have included photos from my previous wishes that I have granted. Thank you to every single person that has donated over the years, and thanks in advance to anyone who will help support me and my Fraternity brothers in this endeavor to make a difference!
