My name is Sammy Schwab and I am currently a senior at the Wharton school of business at the University of Pennsylvania
I am currently fundraising my 6th wish for the Make A Wish Foundation, looking to raise $10,000 dollars to grant a wish kids lifelong wish. It is something that is bigger than myself, and I have the opportunity to change a family‘s life, including the wish kid’s ability to fight his life threatening disease. Most of the wish kids are even younger than me.
Together we have completed a total of 5 wishes, raising over $65,000 to send wish kids to Nintendo Land at Universal, the NBA All Star Game, the release of the Transformers Bumblebee movie, to meet John Cena and to meet the Philadelphia Eagles team.
Throughout my time working with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, I have learned how important these wishes are for kids, replacing fear with confidence and sadness with hope.
The majority of wish kids go on to beat their critical illnesses, and research shows that a wish can help children build the physical and emotional strength they need to fight – giving them a better chance of surviving and thriving.
Since I began working with the Make-A Wish Foundation in 2016, I have made it my goal to raise enough funds to grant a wish each year. I have been overwhelmed when the wish was granted and I have had the honor to watch some of the kids grow up and attend college and other lifelong goals that they never thought they would be reaching. What is also unique about granting a wish is the ability to bring some joy to the siblings as well because they luckily get to enjoy the wish and they are the ones that make so many sacrifices that sometimes we forget about.
In addition, you are welcome to join me at the wish reveal where we share the great news with the wish kid and their family. Last year I was able to get my entire fraternity to join the event (they all dressed up as Super Mario characters) and it was such a powerful experience for everyone involved.
Any donation is greatly appreciated, thanks in advance for any support!
With warmest regards,
Sammy Schwab
