My name is Evie. I’m an 8-year-old from Portland and I’m a 2024 Make-A-Wish Oregon Wish Ambassador!
As a Wish Ambassador, it’s my job to spread the life-changing hope, strength and joy that a wish provides to other local kids and families. I want to help other kids have their wishes come true, too!
My wish was to meet a mermaid and to swim with a dolphin in Hawaii. I found out my wish was coming true in a BIG way! I was with a group of other wish kids at a special Portland Timbers game, when Timber Joey called me out on to the field at the half. He revealed my wish was coming true and the entire crowd erupted into cheers! After battling the unimaginable with a liver transplant, I was so excited for my wish.
The moment my wish came true, I saw a beautiful mermaid named Serenity waiting for me to go for a swim. I was so surprised and happy! It was the best day ever!
Wishes are important because they make your heart feel warm and happy when they come true.
My wish introduced me to so many new people, including my good friend Selene! She was one of the other wish kids who was there to surprise me during my wish reveal. We love to catch up on the phone and we even ran into each other during my wish in Hawaii!
