Dear friends, family and community members,
My name is Maryam, a 17-year-old from Redmond, and I am a 2025 Make-A-Wish Oregon Wish Ambassador!
As a Wish Ambassador, it is my job to spread the life-changing hope, strength and joy that a wish provides to other local kids and families.
My wish made me feel happier about life. It reminded me about all the cool and fun things life has to offer, even though sometimes the things I have to do for my health are not easy.
I wished to go to Alaska. I wanted to feel the cold air, see the Northern Lights, go dog sledding, and walk with reindeer. The moment my wish came true was unreal! It was so exciting to see all of these experiences come to life and to be in those moments with my sister and parents.
My favorite memory of the trip was riding up a mountain on a snowcat to see the Northern Lights. It was a very bumpy ride and we just laughed the whole way up and down the mountain.
Wishes are extremely important because they give kids happiness and hope, which are sometimes forgotten when your critical illness takes a lot out of you.
Today, I’m asking you to support me with a donation so more local kids can find that hope and happiness. Kids like me, who are battling a critical illness like cancer or heart disease and deserve to dream big and feel the joy a wish can bring.
Will you please help me make a difference in our community?
Let’s show other kids in our community what can happen when a group of caring people rally around them to make dreams come true.
Together, we can provide so much hope!
Sincerely,
Wish Ambassador Maryam
