About MARIAN, Inc. & the Run as One 5k: 

During the height of the COVID 19 pandemic in 2020, Marian was looking for a fun way to bring our employees across the country together. The result was Marian's first virtual 5K! Attendees across the country joined "together" for the virtual opening ceremonies via Zoom and all sported their Marian virtual 5k t-shirt while they took on the challenge to complete a 5K from wherever they chose. The event was a huge success and there quickly were requests to bring back the event the following year.

Part of Marian's corporate culture is to give back to the communities where our employees live and work, so in 2022, our executive team decided to grow our successful 5k event by adding a philanthropic component. Each of our 6 US locations was asked to choose a local charity for which their employees could raise money. In turn, Marian headquarters would match each location's donations dollar-for-dollar up to $10,000.

We were blown away by the efforts of each of our locations and so ecstatic to be able to donate nearly $86,000 total to the charities our locations had designated that first year. We added another $80,000 worth of donations to that total for our 2023 event and are aiming to make this year's event our most successful yet!

Marian Indianapolis is excited to support Make-A-Wish this year for our 2024 Run as One 5k event! Make-A-Wish’s mission to give hope and strength to children with critical illnesses through the magic of granting wishes is truly inspirational to us. We’re eager to engage our networks to help Make-A-Wish keep granting wishes for deserving children!
