In November of 2018, Robert became extremely sick and had started to develop visible lumps on his neck. His mom rushed him to the Emergency Room, where doctors said he most likely had an infection and that it would resolve itself in a week or two. However, Robert’s mom noticed his condition was not improving but in fact, getting worse. At this point, Robert had even more enlarged lymph nodes, bruises on his body, and red spots covering his belly. He was then rushed back to the ER where several blood tests were ordered, which led to him being diagnosed with Leukemia. Robert was then immediately hospitalized for over a month and began his chemotherapy treatment. At this time Robert is stable but will likely continued chemo treatment for up to three years.
Regardless of his diagnosis, Robert continues to be a lovable ball of energy. He is the “baby” of the family and enjoys all the attention of being the youngest. His favorite things to eat are spaghetti and strawberry popsicles. Robert loves superheroes and playing with his action figures. He also enjoys putting together puzzles and painting. One of Robert’s favorite pastimes is playing Lego, Kirby, and Mario Kart video games on his Nintendo Switch. However, his most favorite hobby of all is playing outside in his backyard. He loves being outside, so he can wrestle his siblings, ride his scooter, and race his dog in the yard.
For his wish, Robert has chosen to have a playset! Robert constantly asks to go to his grandparents because he loves using their play structure. He has the most fun going down the spiral slide and climbing the wall to the top of the clubhouse. Therefore, Robert really wants a playset of his own, right in his own backyard. He is especially excited to have his very own swing set! Robert is looking forward to the day his wish comes true!
