I am the mother of micro-preemie twins. They are now 9 years old and healthy, but the early challenges that they faced on their journey brought strength to our family and opened my eyes to other children with different and tougher challenges. Simply put, it changed my life.
I want to grant a wish for one of these children with more critical challenges because when a wish is granted, a child replaces fear with confidence, sadness with joy and anxiety with hope. The majority of Make-A-Wish kids go on to beat their critical illnesses, and research shows that a wish can help children build the physical and emotional strength they need to fight – giving them a better chance of surviving and thriving.
