When we think of childhood, we often envision a time of innocence, happiness, and boundless exploration. When the life-altering news of a critical illness diagnosis is delivered to a child and their family - the sparkle and joy of childhood often comes to fast and jarring stop. The future, previously so easily attainable and full of possibilities, is now clouded with anxiety, pain, and isolation. 

It is in this overwhelming and critical intersection where Make-A-Wish Michigan intervenes. When bring hope when it is needed the most. 

Make-A-Wish Michigan is dedicated to a singular mission: Together, we create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. 

A wish is an opportunity to set aside thoughts of doctor appointments and medical tests and focus on a positive, uplifting event. Excited anticipation fills long hours in hospital beds with visions of swimming besides dolphins, meeting princesses for tea or shaking hands with a hero. Wishes are life-affirming and an equip children and their families with invaluable tools to aid them in their fight against illness... hope, strength, joy, and the knowledge that they are not fighting alone. 

Our Dream Team members are participating in the Detroit Free Press Marathon (varying distances) on October 24, 2024, while proudly fundraising for Make-A-Wish. Our goal is to collectively raise enough money to fund one heartfelt wish for a child in our state. The average cost of a wish is $10,000.
