I have been volunteering with Make-A-Wish foundation for the past year. The idea of being able to bring a little bit of good news and joy to a family going through a difficult time means the world to me. I lost my brother to cancer almost 5 years ago. When he was sick I remember every nurse, doctor, or person in his life that made him smile even when he was in so much pain he didn’t want to smile. If I can pass that along to another family that doesn't necessarily always want to smile would mean the world to me. My sweet brother, John, always said he wanted to work with kids and visit children hospitals. Unfortunately, he never got the chance to make that happen. This is what led me to volunteering with Make-A-Wish. I figured if he couldn’t fulfill his dreams maybe I can do something small on his honor. I have seen the amazing opportunities given to children from the foundation. Any amount of money helps and will be going to a great foundation. I am privileged to be running for Make-A-Wish and in Johns honor. We love you John Boy!
