We really believe in the importance of a wish because our daughter was granted one. At the time we had our wish we had just gotten over a bunch of medical issues that really had her feeling down, but when she got to Disney and found out I wasn't going to make her see a doctor, wear any braces, no therapy, etc. just eat ice cream and be a kid, I felt her joy. She smiled every day we were there, a smile I never saw before until then and continue to see every time we remind her of that wish. My father once told me if I don't let her live a little, she would never know what she was fighting for and Make-A-Wish really helped me show her. I will always be grateful for them.
Make-A-Wish of MA and RI is committed to these children so they don't just stop at 1 wish, they can continue to bring them joy by creating community events. In the last year we met the Patriots at Training Camp, we went bowling (Natalia's favorite she met the Revs mascott) and got to go to the Circus. We have been lucky to meet other families and every time I do I feel even more thankful for Make-A-Wish, these kids deserve joy and it's great to see them and their families having a little fun.
