Welcome!
The Ninneman family is proudly fundraising for Make-A-Wish – we hope you will join us by making a gift today!
Our family was so grateful for our Make-A-Wish experience. After Owen's illness, our whole family was clawing our way back to a sense of normalcy and joy. Our trip to Alaska proved to be just what we needed - and then some. We were very excited for our adventure, but we did not fully appreciate how transformative the experience would be and how it would offer such real and necessary healing for all of us. At each point in our journey, Make-a-Wish offered hope and restoration. Owen was able to have a hopeful and positive distraction of choosing and thinking about his wish during his treatments. Our wonderful volunteer helped us prepare for our trip and have a lot of fun anticipating it. The trip itself allowed us to rediscover a lot of the joy and hope and fun of our little family of 5. And then the shared memory has continued to be a point of connection and fond reflection for us all.
We very much found it to be true that, as Make-A-Wish promises,"when a wish is granted, a child replaces fear with confidence, sadness with joy and anxiety with hope. The majority of wish kids go on to beat their critical illnesses, and research shows that a wish can help children build the physical and emotional strength they need to fight – giving them a better chance of surviving and thriving."
Every day, 70+ children are diagnosed with a critical illness and count on donors like us to help make their wish come true. Our family wants to pay it forward and make sure that other families and kids have the opportunity to have the magical healing experience of a granted wish.
With love,
Eric, Naomi, James, Owen and Miles
