Now through Tuesday, your gift will be matched* by D&C Mechanical, Inc., owned by family of wish recipient Cole.
Cole, from Tewksbury, MA, had his wish to go on a Hawaiian cruise granted when he was 8 years old. Now 14, Cole and his family are still so moved by his wish experience that they are making a donation to match Giving Tuesday gifts up to $13,000. Make your contribution now!
Cole was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) just days before Christmas in 2013 and he began over three years of chemotherapy. When the completion of his treatment coincided with Cole's 8th birthday, he wanted to celebrate with his family on the beaches of Hawaii. Highlights of the trip included seeing sea turtles, snorkeling, walking over lava rocks, and even seeing an active volcano. The trip reminded Cole how far he had come and how strong he was to get through his treatment. He and his family say they will carry Cole's wish experience with them forever.
As you know, Make-A-Wish Massachusetts and Rhode Island relies on the generous support of everyday people to deliver hope and joy through wishes granted. When a wish is granted, a child replaces fear with confidence, sadness with joy and anxiety with hope. The majority of wish kids go on to beat their critical illnesses, and research shows that a wish can help children build the physical and emotional strength they need to fight – giving them a better chance of surviving and thriving.
Will you help us grant more wishes by doubling your impact with a gift today?
Thanks for your support!
