While I have traditionally done the tri for a cure, this year I am joining my gym friends at Iron Legion to help raise money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
I traded in my swim cap and bike for a barbell and lots of weight. I will be competing against myself in a dead lift competition called Operation Change. Together my iron legion and I are trying to raise $70,000 for granting wishes!
When you donate a wish is granted, a child replaces fear with confidence, sadness with joy and anxiety with hope. The majority of wish kids go on to beat their critical illnesses, and research shows that a wish can help children build the physical and emotional strength they need to fight – giving them a better chance of surviving and thriving.
