I’ve been privileged to participate in Iron Legion's Operation Change fundraiser for Make-A-Wish for several years. It’s helped me to step out of my comfort zone, be on a stage and lift really heavy weights. Last year was my best, I reached a 300# PR, and it was a grinder, but I succeeded. This year, frankly, I’m just happy to be there. I know my body isn’t where it needs to be to beat that PR, and may not even come close. But it’s not about me, it’s about the change this fundraiser can make for wishes of kids who need something to wish for. Will you join me in helping a worthwhile cause?
When a wish is granted, a child replaces fear with confidence, sadness with joy and anxiety with hope. The majority of wish kids go on to beat their critical illnesses, and research shows that a wish can help children build the physical and emotional strength they need to fight – giving them a better chance of surviving and thriving.
Every day, 70+ children are diagnosed with a critical illness and count on donors like us to help make their wish come true.
