It's that time of year, and I need your help!
But this isn’t just about me. I’m asking for you, your family, friends, neighbors—the kids playing in your yard, hanging with your own. This is about all of us.
That’s why I’m so excited about teaming up with Iron Legion Strength and Make-A-Wish Maine. Both are driven by passion, strength and a commitment to changing lives. It’s a powerful partnership! I have been involved with MAW for more than 26 years. I've worn many hats including that of fund raiser, wish granter, staff member, and board member. The most important MAW hat I've worn is the one that I didn't volunteer for -- I became a wish mom in 2009. I learned, the hard way, just how important a wish is for our sick kiddos and also how incredibly precious it is for the entire family!
When a wish is granted, something amazing happens—a child’s fear is replaced with confidence, sadness turns to joy, and anxiety becomes hope. Wish kids have something incredible to look forward to and wish parents watch their sick kids smile again. Most kids who receive a wish beat their critical illnesses, and studies show that a wish helps build the strength they need to thrive and survive.
Every day, more than 70 kids are diagnosed with life-threatening illnesses, and it’s donors like us who make those dreams come true.
Let’s be part of their journey to hope. Thank you for your support!
