No Shave November 2023

Please join us in supporting our 11th annual No Shave November (NSN) event!
THE CAUSE. Conner Mason was just a teen when he lost his courageous battle with brain cancer in early December of 2013. https://www.kcci.com/article/family-friends-say-goodbye-to-conner-mason/6886552. Conner handled himself like a champion throughout his fight and serves as a true inspiration to many.
This year marks the 10th Anniversary of Conner’s passing and our 11th “No Shave” celebration. In Memory of Conner Mason, you can participate in this Annual Celebration of an exceptional young man by not shaving for the month of November– and/or by pledging to donate $50-$100 (or whatever amount you choose) to Make-A-Wish Iowa
Women who prefer to shave in November can assist by joining “Conner’s Captains” and forming a team of men (or women) to donate and participate (or not) by putting razors away for the month! All Team captains will be recognized at the Finale.

CHARITABLE CONTRIBUTIONS. This year we are again designating Make a Wish Iowa as our preferred charity for donations. Make a Wish Iowa assisted the Mason Family by granting Conner’s “wish trip” trip to Hawaii which created an indelible memory for Conner and his family. Over the past 10 years, generous support for NSN in Conner’s memory has allowed us to raise over $150,000 to help Make a Wish and make multiple children’s wishes come true!
Our annual goal has been to raise at least $15,000 – which is the average cost to grant a “wish” for a patient / family in Conner’s honor. The more we raise, the more wishes that can be granted! This year we are pleased to announce that a generous couple and annual supporter of NSN has agreed to match (double) the amount we raise - up to the cost of a full wish!
We have VENMO! If you would prefer, feel free to make a donation to Make-A-Wish Iowa via VENMO to @Make-A-WishIowa. In the memo please be sure to include No Shave November and your team designation. For example: NSN 2023-Team Missy
EXPANDING OUR REACH. Please feel free to share this email to the friends and family in your email address book so that we can maximize participation in this annual event and tribute to Conner. If you have participated or contributed in the past – please attempt to recruit 2-3 new participants this year to help support and expand this cause.
THE FINALE / CELEBRATION. The finale / celebration will be held Saturday December 2rd, 2023 at 3 PM – at Jethro’s BBQ in Altoona.
