Logistic Property Company, LLC (LPC) prides itself on providing state-of-the-art logistics properties while adding value to the communities in which it operates. Since our foundation in 2018, LPC has celebrated each anniversary with its partners and friends via a cocktail-style benefit to grant life-changing wish experiences for children with critical illnesses. As we approach our third anniversary, we are delighted to continue this tradition. To date, we have raised $150,000 to give hope to the kids Make-A-Wish Illinois serves. Now more than ever, that hope is essential, we want to raise another $100,000 to make dreams come true for critically ill children. To kick-off our third anniverary benefit, LPC is pledging the first $20,000!
How has COVID-19 affected wishes?
As current global health issues have required many wishes to be paused until it is safe for them to be granted, wish children are facing increased fear, uncertainty, and isolation. For the growing list of children who are waiting for their wish, Make-A-Wish is committed to providing a wish journey that is still one of hope, anticipation and joy. Its staff and volunteers have rapidly innovated to support every wish child and their family in safe and socially distant manner like Addelyn’s surprise Bo Peep gift “from Mickey” to bring her happiness while she waits for her wish.
Despite the global pandemic, Make-A-Wish is continuing to grant wishes, like A’drah’s wish for a puppy and Ellie’s wish for a camper. LPC is so proud to have been a part of supporting these wishes come true.
As good news of effective vaccines brings optimism, Make-A-Wish is preparing to grant a record-breaking number of wishes as soon as it is safe to do so. LPC is proud to provide resources that will help to ensure that no child has to wait even one unnecessary day for a wish.
Addressing Wish Deserts
Make-A-Wish America’s vision is to grant a wish to every eligible child. Research has shown that traditional outreach efforts have not produced the same referral outcomes in every community, producing wish deserts. In 2019, the Illinois chapter pioneered a new initiative that focuses on reaching children in traditionally under-resourced communities. Critical illnesses do not discriminate and neither does Make-A-Wish as they strive to remove all barriers preventing critically ill children from realizing the hope that a wish can provide. We are thrilled to support Make-A-Wish in this effort, especially as we know that LPC properties can be located in and near these communities. Together, we want to help change this trend because every child deserves a childhood.
We hope you will join us in supporting these amazing children and the volunteers who work so hard to provide life changing wish experiences for them. Wishes can’t happen without you!
