The Wishes Forever Endowment Fund has been established to honor the legacy of wish kid Taiyo. This 19-year-old Kaneohe boy wished to have a hydraulic dump trailer, motivated by his drive to start his own business. He wanted to use a portion of the profits to help other kids in need, that was Taiyo’s way. Debbie and Glenn Furuya of Leadership Works sponsored Taiyo’s wish and connected with him and his family on a deeply meaningful level. After his wish was granted in February 2022, they stayed in touch and were looking forward to having Taiyo join one of their future leadership trainings.

Unfortunately, Taiyo passed away from cancer in June 2022. In the short time he had after receiving his hydraulic dump trailer, he was able to wish it forward by helping move a special tracked wheelchair for a waiting wish kid. To honor Taiyo’s spirit, his family decided to sell the trailer and donate the proceeds to Make-A-Wish Hawaii. Once Debbie and Glenn learned of this truly selfless decision Taiyo’s parents made to honor their son, they decided to also donate, pooling the funds to establish the Wishes Forever Endowment Fund. This generosity will honor Taiyo’s legacy in perpetuity and will impact future wish keiki and their families for generations to come.
Please join us in raising money to help grant Wishes Forever for local children with critical illnesses. All monies stay in Hawaii.
