Aaron Rose was a son, a brother, a friend, and most importantly, a child whose life was taken far too soon by Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia (ALL). Aaron was diagnosed with ALL when he was 15 months old and battled this disease for 9 years. When Aaron was 3 years old, Make-A-Wish granted his wish by sending him to Disney World. He was later given other opportunities through Make-A-Wish including ice skating with the cast of Aladdin. Exposure from Make-A-Wish opened the door right into the Pittsburgh Penguin’s locker room when he was 9. Aaron beamed with excitement when given the chance to meet star players of the Penguins, wear Jaromír Jágr’s gloves, and take a picture with Mario Lemieux! Throughout his battle, Aaron experienced the lows of chemotherapy and multiple relapses as well as the highs of being in remission. One thing Aaron never lost was his smile and ability to light up a room.
We invite you to donate to our fundraiser, benefiting Make-A-Wish, in memory of Aaron. This anniversary of his passing on February 26th will mark 26 years we have been without him. With the average cost of a wish being $5,000, we hope to help Make-A-Wish bring another child one step closer to receiving their very own glimmer of hope-- a wish.
