Christopher Greicius, a brave seven-year-old boy battling leukemia wished to be a police officer. On this day the Phoenix community came together to make his wish come true. Little did Chris know that his wish would be the inspiration that created the organization known today as Make-A-Wish®.
Here in West Virginia, we are proud to continue this amazing work of granting wishes for local children who have been diagnosed with a critical illness.
For children and families who are dealing with the challenges of a sick child, finding gratitude and hope can often feel impossible. The reality of harsh treatments and complicated surgeries is not only exhausting – it is traumatic. Such mental distress can impair a child’s long-term healing and leave them feeling hopeless. A spark of hope can change everything.
This spark of hope can be found in a wish, and YOU have the power to make wishes possible for a child in your community. This year we invite you to participate in our 2024 Wild & Wonderful Wishes Club by partnering with our local chapter to raise funds in support of a local wish.
