My name is Dan Perritano. My daughter, Emma, and I complete a long-distance charity walk each summer. Emma is 25 years old and has cerebral palsy; I push her in a customized running chair. Our walks have taken us across the states of Pennsylvania, Colorado, and Vermont to name a few. This summer we are staying local and partnering with The Erie Community Foundation to complete Emma and Dan’s Presque Isle Challenge. This will involve us walking the entire peninsula (13.1 miles) each day during the month of June. We plan on walking for several local nonprofit organizations hoping to raise money through donations while on the walk. This will be our eighth long-distance adventure since we began in 2015.
We are excited to be walking and collecting donations for the Erie Regional office of Make-A-Wish Greater PA & WV on June 11-15th , 2024. The mission of this wonderful organization is "Together, we create life-changing wishes to children with critical illnesses." A wish renews hope, uplifts spirits and encourages belief in the impossible. In 2009, Emma received a wish from Make-A-Wish and our family got to see first-hand how much a wish can benefit a child and their entire family. We hope you will donate to Make-A-Wish on Emma's behalf during these dates and help us make other wishes possible.
