Evergreen Wish Week 2023
Hello EHS Friends and Family,
Wish Week is here! Meet the adorable and strong Xavier, Evergreen’s 2023 Wish Kid!
Xavier is five years old and lives locally in Littleton. He was diagnosed with a congenital heart disease, but he has stayed resilient, fun, and positive despite the numerous ways in which this disease has affected his life. He loves many of the things we all love, like chocolate; Lays Chips; football; reading; the movie Sing 2; cheese pizza, especially from Dominoes; video games like Fortnite and the Wreck Room; and the color red!
Xavier's wish is to visit DisneyLand, and if we raise over $10,000, we can help Make-A-Wish Colorado grant this wish and more! In fact, if we raise $20,000, we could grant several wishes for multiple Make-A-Wish Colorado kids, which is why it’s our 2023 Wish Week goal! It may sound like a significant amount of money, BUT if each EHS student donated just $20 during Wish Week, we would easily meet this goal. Medical professionals have stated that granting a Make-A-Wish child’s wish has often led to a turning point in the child’s recovery and has provided these brave kids with some much deserved relief from trauma. Wish Kids often say that their wish helped them overcome depression, hopelessness, and loneliness relating to their illness, ultimately giving them the strength to fight harder and increase their chances of survival. We want to give Xavier, and other Wish Kids like him, all the healing benefits that come along with granting a wish!
Wish Week starts on Monday, February 27th and ends with a Sadie Hawkins dance on Saturday, March 4th. We will have a variety of fundraisers throughout the week including a quarter stall, teacher challenges, a dance, Coug Cafe sales, and so much more to help raise money for wonderful Xavier’s wish!
