I hope you and your family are well and you are working through the significant effects that COVID-19 has had on Central and South Texas.
I am writing to you today as a former Wish Dad and as a member of the San Antonio Regional Board of Texas for Make-A-Wish. I had a child that was facing a life-threatening illness. In 2008 and our family was able to be granted a Make-A-Wish trip. Our daughter, McKenzie, wanted to be a princess and we went to Disney World in Florida between Christmas and New Year’s. It was a trip of a lifetime and one our family still cherishes all these years later. It would be our last family trip and less than a year later we lost our princess to cancer.
I want to make sure families continue to have wishes granted and continue to be able to share the story of their wishes into the future.
With the COVID-19 effects on the economy and on giving, Make-A-Wish needs your help. We recognize that not everyone can fund a wish or ever conceive of the idea of giving a large sum of money to a charity. We understand and want to assure you we are not asking anyone to risk their budgets and families. Collectively we can make a HUGE difference in granting wish in Central and South Texas!
What we are asking is that you consider, in recognition of the 40th Anniversary of Make-A-Wish, and in recognition of your own family that you make a $40 contribution to Make-A-Wish of South Texas.
Make-A-Wish needs your help. Please consider donating today if possible. If you can give more that is helpful, if you can give less that is still helpful.
Each of us knows the impact a Wish can make on a child and their family. Be apart of helping others TODAY.
