When a wish is granted, a child replaces fear with confidence, sadness with joy, and anxiety with hope. The majority of wish kids go on to beat their critical illnesses and research shows that a wish can help children build the physical and emotional strength that they need to fight - giving them a better chance of surviving and thriving. 87% of Make-A-Wish alumni say that their wish was a turning point in their treatment.
Since the 1990s, Chi Omega has raised more than 35 million dollars and has volunteered over 1.4 million hours for Make-A-Wish. Because of this commitment, this foundation recognizes Chi Omega as one of their Cause Champion sponsors. The Omicron Mu chapter of Chi Omega in our home, San Luis Obispo, is very dedicated towards raising money to support our philanthropy. We proudly just received an award from Chi Omega Nationals for donating the most hours to Make-A-Wish in the Western Plains region. Here in Chi Omega, we understand the importance of the Make-A-Wish mission, and all of the lives it impacts. So please join us in our philanthropy and make a difference yourself!
