Summer should be a time of joy for children, but wish kids often miss out due to their illness, creating a dark chapter during a time that should be filled with sunshine and memories.
A wish can change everything for these children – giving them the strength and hope they need to persevere in their fight against critical illness. More than 600 wish kids are currently waiting for their wish to be granted.
Summer is our busiest season and we are prepared to grant more than one wish every day this summer.
MY STORY:
For those who know me, you're aware that about four years ago, my daughter was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia. Since then, she has shown incredible strength and resilience, ultimately conquering the disease and entering remission. As we approach the remarkable milestone of being five years cancer-free, we give all the glory to God.
Throughout our challenging journey, we were truly blessed with an outpouring of generosity and love from our community. Among the many blessings we received, one that had an immeasurable impact was Madi's wish. She wished for a trip to Disney World with her family, and thanks to Make-A-Wish, her dream came true.
Make-A-Wish not only fulfilled Madi's wish but also provided our entire family with hope during the darkest moments of her battle with cancer. Their dedication went above and beyond, and for that, we are forever grateful.
Today, I proudly serve on the Wish Council for the Arizona chapter of Make-A-Wish, and it's our full-circle moment. It's our chance to pay forward the gift of hope to another child who is courageously battling a disease.
