As most of you know, I have been chasing my dream of representing the United States on a dogsledding expedition in the Arctic with the popular Swedish clothing company, Fjällräven. This year I decided I would like to do something for someone else as I ask others to support me. I decided to go with Make-A-Wish because these children have the odds stacked against them and are seeking support from others so that they too can have their seemingly impossible dreams fulfilled.
I started an online Make-A-Wish foundation page in the hopes of securing enough donations to match them with votes collected through Facebook during the competition. Each wish costs on average $10,000 and I will need roughly 30,000 votes to have a winning chance. I’m promising my supporters that one vote equals one dollar so we can fulfill the dreams of several children battling critical illness and secure my spot on the North American team. This way, even if I fall short on my votes and don’t make the team, at least I have helped someone else with their dream.
Please join me in helping support a child in need by making a donation to my page.
Your friendship and support means a lot to me!
With Hugs and Thanks, Mel
