I have volunteered with Make-A-Wish for the last 6 years. The kids, teens, and families I have worked with are all unique and not one is alike. Discovering that your child is sick can cause confusion, sadness, anger, and fear. Wish kids have shown me the true beauty of perseverance, love, comfort, and hope.
I volunteer because kids are worth it. I work with Make-A-Wish because they actively listen. They show up for wish kids in dark hours and provide excitement, validation, and hope. Hearing these kids talk about goals and dreams is truly magical and humbling.
Wish kids are some of the bravest and sweetest kids you'll ever know. They wish to work in a pickle factory, become a superhero, go snorkeling, give their baseball team new uniforms, and push all the buttons in a tall building's elevator.
Now more than ever, the world needs the hope of a wish come true. Together, we can help grant more wishes. Please donate today.
