Why Team Sarah Strong raises money for Make-A-Wish - Wisconsin 

In Memory of Sarah Pease - January 4, 1995 - July 3, 2011

Sarah Pease was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML), a cancer that affects the blood and bone marrow on December 7, 2010 at the age of 15.

Sarah was granted her Wish to meet Maroon 5 at Summerfest in Milwaukee on July 2, 2011.

Sadly, her seven-month battle against this insidious cancer was lost the morning after her Wish was granted. Needless to say, it broke many hearts and changed countless lives forever.

Team Sarah Strong was started a few weeks after Sarah’s diagnosis. Her friends, family and the Wauwatosa community came together to raise money for the Hematology, Oncology & Transplant (HOT) Unit at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, the Sarah Pease Service Scholarship for Wauwatosa East High School and blood drives in her name for the Blood Center of Wisconsin.  The Tale of Sarah Strong continues to be heard as a feature story of a Wish Child for the Make-A-Wish annual Holiday fund drive and her life story was told at the 2013 Make-A-Wish Gala Night.

WE ARE RAISING MONEY FOR OUR 20TH & 21st WISH CHILD!  Our 20th Wish Child is Charley an 8-year-old with Osteosarcoma. Her wish is to go to Disney. Our 21st Wish Child is Amelia a 14-year-old living with cancer.  Her wish is to meet YouTuber Faze Rug.

In the past 13 years, Team Sarah Strong has raised money to grant Wishes through generous donations & fundraiser events at Stolley's Hogg Alley and donations from the Kyle Hahn Memorial Ride to the following children with life threatening illnesses:

2023 - Jahyda - a trip to Hawaii.  Kylie - Walt Disney World.

2022 - Rose - Walt Disney World.  Mariah - a trip to Mall of America. 

2021 - Story - Accessible Backyard.  Violet - an indoor play set.

2020 - Heaven - Walt Disney World Resort.  Malcolm a camper.

2019 - Jillian - Walt Disney World. 

2018 - Hayley - a Disney Cruise.

2017 - Naomi - a trip to Hawaii.  Andrea - met Ronnie Radke from Falling in Reverse. 

2016 – Molly – a trip to Ireland.  Iris – a trip to Hawaii.

2015 - Laura – a Disney Cruise vacation

2014 - Chelsea - met Christina Aguilera

2013 - Anya – a trip to the Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas

2012 - Alicia – a trip to Walt Disney World

2011 - Kelsey – a trip to Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida
