I wish to meet a Disney Imagineer!
Our daughter Megan is a Wish Kid. Her wish to meet a Disney Imagineer was granted in the summer of 2022, after she successfully beat cancer. Throughout her journey, we were introduced to many different organizations that had a direct impact on her treatment, and her health.
This year, we have selected Make a Wish Foundation as the charity we would like to fundraise for. The power of a wish is hard to put into words, it is a light at the end of the tunnel, a smile in a sea of clouds. For Megan, her wish was what we talked about when she had hard days, during needle pokes, sitting on the bathroom floor, and during daily chemo infusions.
I am really proud to support Make-A-Wish and their work in our community. Make-A-Wish creates life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. A wish gives children renewed energy and strength, brings families closer together and unites communities.
Did you know that Make-A-Wish grants more than 15,000 wishes nationwide every year? That’s a lot, yes. But that’s only 50% of the eligible kids. Every hour of every day, three children are diagnosed with a critical illness. Every one of these kids needs a wish to give them strength and help them heal. I’m fundraising so more deserving kids and their families can know the happiness, relief and renewal a wish can bring.
These life-changing wishes are only possible because of supporters like us. A wish experience can truly change a child’s life, and so can we.
