2019 Walk For Wishes - Kansas City, MO

Team Isaiah

I am excited to walk and fundraise for this year’s Walk For Wishes.  I am committed to raising money for Make-A-Wish to help grant the wishes of children with critical illnesses. It’s truly amazing what a wish come true can do for a wish kid. In addition to giving them the experience of a lifetime, parents, health professionals and volunteers agree that a wish empowers wish kids to fight harder against their illnesses.

My own personal experience with Make-A-Wish was a special one. My son Isaiah was diagnosed with a rare terminal brain disease when he was 2 years old. By age 4, Isaiah had lost a significant amount of his physical abilities and was limited on what he could do. Make-A-Wish made him an honorary firefighter and then gave him a whole day full of firetrucks and trains. He loved both and it was just the best day for him. It was one of his last big adventures before he became too sick to go out much. Isaiah lost his battle with Vanishing White Matter Disease in June of 2016. We continue to remember him and honor him by fundraising, especially for foundations close to our heart like Make-A-Wish. Thank you for taking the time to read about our story and considering walking with me or donating!
