To this day I remember my first trip to Disneyland. I think I was around the same age as Cooper. For those not aware, Cooper is Emerson's Make-A-Wish Ambassador. In November of 2017, at the age of three, Cooper was diagnosed with Stage 4 Neuroblastoma. Since then he has gone through chemotherapy, surgery, two bone marrow transplants, and 20 radiation treatments. His Wish is to now visit Disneyland with his family and our job is to help make this Wish come true.
At the time of my first Disneyland visit I had three brothers and we were all extremely excited. My family made the five hour drive from Northern California down to the happiest place on earth. I vividly remember my parents letting us each choose a hat (I went with Goofy)...and that the Roger Rabbit ride was far too scary for me. The hat made up for it though! My parents had to pry that thing off of me.
I am hoping that our team's fundraising can help give Cooper and his family the same opportunity. A tiny bit of effort from each of us can have an enormouly positive impact on a family that is going through an extremely difficult time. For this reason, we set our team's goal high and aim to go even higher!
Needless to say, I am really excited to walk and fundraise for this year’s Walk For Wishes. Along with my co-captain, Daniel Tamasi, we will do everything in our power to enable our team and the rest of Emerson IT. If you have any ideas for fundraising please reach out to us!
In the meantime, keep checking back on this page for updates. We have many ideas and will continue to update this page with information.
