I decided to get involved with the Make a Wish Foundation because of my deep empathy and compassion for families who have children facing critical illnesses.
As a mother to four healthy children, I feel incredibly fortunate that my own children have not been directly impacted by such difficult circumstances. However, I have witnessed firsthand the pain and challenges that families face when their child is diagnosed with a critical illness through the experiences of several our friends and members of our community. This has made me acutely aware of the emotional and financial strain that these families endure. I wanted to do something meaningful and impactful to support these families in our local community.
Make-A-Wish stood out to me as an organization that not only brings joy and happiness to these children, but also provides support to their families during challenging times. By getting involved with Make-A-Wish, I can contribute to the mission of granting wishes to critically ill children, helping them experience moments of joy and happiness that they may not otherwise have the opportunity to enjoy. I believe that every child deserves to experience the magic and wonder of having their deepest wishes come true, especially in the face of adversity.
Being an honorary fundraising chair for the Walk for Wishes allows me to make a difference in the lives of these children and their families. It gives me a sense of purpose and fulfillment to know that we can help bring a smile to a child's face and provide comfort and support to their loved ones during difficult times. Ultimately, my decision to get involved stems from a desire to give back to my community, support those who are facing unimaginable challenges, and make a positive impact on the lives of critically ill children and their families.
