2019 Walk For Wishes® - Southeast Michigan

GSSEM TROOP 76366

On June 6, 2010, Jaiden’s mom’s life became more exciting when she gave birth to a beautiful and, smart baby girl. But Jaiden was born with some complications. She was diagnosed with arthrogryposis which is a form of arthritis in children. It causes stiff muscles and joints in the shoulder and hands of the child, but nevertheless her family was blessed. They spent many days and nights at Children’s Hospital and that is where they discovered the Make A Wish Foundation.

This foundation allows children that were very ill to make a wish and the foundation makes their wish come true. Jaiden’s parents watched many families be blessed with a wish that allowed them to see their children happy – some just one last time. Jaiden’s parents decided that they would tell Jaiden all about her stay at Children’s Hospital and about the Make A Wish Foundation.

Jaiden was one of the children eligible for the Make A Wish Foundation, but her parents believed they were led to this foundation to help other children make their wishes come true. So, they gave Jaiden’s wish away and, since 2015, have supported the Make A Wish Foundation by fundraising and participating in the annual walk at the Detroit Zoo.

Troop 76366 wants Jaiden and her family to know that we support our Girl Scout sister and the Make a Wish Foundation and will be fundraising and walking with them this year. Each scout is being asked to raise $50 towards this cause and participate in the walk on Saturday, May 4th.

A wish gives children renewed energy and strength, brings families closer together and unites communities.

These life-changing wishes are only possible because of supporters like us. A wish experience can truly change a child’s life, and so can we.
